Both speakers presented data and information that will be useful for me to implement in my classes. In thinking about what both have stated, I believe that all students can learn and improve their knowledge, skills, and abilities strategies. Many of my textbooks used methods to understand the material and study suggestions. I firmly believe in using the Learning Resource Center at BMCC, which has helped my students develop abilities and strategies for time management, study skills, and testing. Using the LRC and the services offered can help students with achievement build confidence.

I will now have students discuss with the class any written assignment. More specifically, what did you learn? As mentioned in one of my discussion groups, it is essential to know the purpose and reason why a student(s) selected a specific topic. I believe that if I state this in the syllabus and discuss this during the first few class sessions, there should be no miscommunication as to the expectation. If anyone needs assistance, I will be there to guide individuals and offer suggestions like the LRC and the Writing Center.

I understand that students have different learning experiences, work experiences, and academic preparation. However, I firmly believe that taking advantage of the free resources can and will help students. I think everyone can learn, and there is an opportunity for some students who may need more encouragement to seek out assistance than others.
