Reflection #3

I have always been mindful of how belief in one’s ability to do something has a huge impact on achievement and persistence. The speakers reminded me of the importance of the professor conveying the message to students that they (the professor) believes that they (the students) can do it. I intend to use growth mindset language in feedback to students. I have been thinking of modifying the grades so they increase in amount over the course of the semester. In feedback to students about their work, I will use growth mindset language in feedback. My mindset about students haven’t changed over the years, but this workshop has reminded me of the importance of making sure students know that I know it.
