Things I already have in my syllabus that create a classroom community that is equitable and inclusive are information about the Disabilities Office and the CUNY Policy on Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination. One of the things I would like to try going forward is to have flexible due dates. Meaning if students need more time, thy will need to let m know in advance nd they will not be penalized. I want to add this caveat to my syllabus, so that those students who work full time or may have disability or may just be overwhelmed will feel less pressured and hopefully less anxious.
